Rowing was first used as a means of transport in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. As a sport, it probably began in England in the 17th and early 18th centuries, with the Oxford-Cambridge university boat race, which was inaugurated in 1828. Nowadays, rowing has become one of the popular Olympic events with the annual Oxford-Cambridge race as the highlight.
Wang Shi, a well-known entrepreneur and President of the Asian Rowing Association, once said, "Rowing completely changed my life." Rowing is not about individual glory, but a way to demonstrate great team spirit of positivity, strength, bravery, perseverance and never-give-up.
On Christmas day, invited by Cushman & Wakefield, M-SPACE team participated in a rowing race at the Shen Di City Rowing Center near Shanghai Disneyland. All teams were briefed on the history of rowing after arriving on site, and conducted professional warm-up exercises and trainings before the race officially began.
An hour later, all teams were in full gear ready on their own track. The game then began with a sonorous “Go!” by the chief coach.
The winner was soon born and announced in the crowd of cheering slogans. Congratulations to the teams being awarded! Most importantly was the post-game experiences and feelings sharing among all participants and the lovely Christmas afternoon all spent together.
